Call for 911 Honor Awards Nominations - 2025 Ceremony
We need your help in identifying the heroes and leaders that should be honored at the next Honor Awards event.
Nomination Deadline: Friday, December 13, 2024
The NG9-1-1 Institute hosts the Annual 911 Honor Awards Reception to honor the heroes and leaders of the 911 community. The Co-Chairs of the Congressional NextGen 9-1-1 Caucus and other Members of Congress and federal government leaders are invited to attend and to present the awards to 911 professionals and government leaders from across the United States.
Nominations may now be submitted for the six (6) awards categories described below. Any person or group fitting the description is eligible to be nominated and anyone can nominate (including self-nomination).
Approximately 5-Minutes to complete the nomination form.
You will need to describe “why” the award is deserved, and press information or other documentation is encouraged (can be attached to nomination).
You DO NOT need to be a member of the NG9-1-1 Institute to nominate, self-nominate, or to receive an award.
No registration fees / costs to nominate.
Instructions
Fill out the Nomination form (access buttons above and below) as best you can. Actions that are eligible for 2024 nomination must have taken place (as a single action/event or multiple actions/events) anytime during the period: January 1, 2024 through December 13, 2024.
Nominations may be submitted from NOW through Friday, December 13, 2024.
The nomination form is the primary information source that will determine award winners, and quality of information is more important than quantity of information. However, all relevant additional information is welcome, including press coverage where appropriate.

Award Categories
Citizen in Action
This award recognizes an individual of any age or group (more than one person) who demonstrated exceptional bravery and heroism to respond in a critical time using 911. This award honors a citizen who has taken the initiative to help in a crisis.
Government Leader
This award recognizes the elected or appointed Federal, State, or Local Government Leader (including state 911 coordinators) that has displayed significant dedication and leadership in advancing the 911 system. Specific efforts to enable the deployment of NG911 systems will be considered. Note, with the exception of state 911 coordinators, public sector 911 professionals will not be considered in this category.
Public Safety Professional
This award recognizes a 911 professional from the public sector for their leadership, professionalism, initiative, creativity, and diligence, in assisting a person reporting and/or experiencing an emergency situation or solving a critical 911 issue.
Industry Professional
This award recognizes a 911 industry professional for their leadership, professionalism, initiative, creativity, and diligence, in solving a critical 911 issue, with a particular emphasis on those whose efforts have advanced NG911
Outstanding Call Center
This award recognizes a 911 call center for overall excellence in serving the public including the handling of emergency situations reported to 911 and the deployment and management of new technology. Also, this award recognizes a state or regional 911 program for excellence in serving the public including the handling of emergency situations and the deployment and management of new technology.
NG911 Awareness
This award recognizes an individual, organization, company, media outlet, program, or any other effort(s) to coordinate and promote education and awareness for NG911, the appropriate use of the 9-1-1 system, or the transition to a Next Gen 911 system. It also may include person(s) involved in other areas such as press/media/entertainment that assist in promoting and improving the understanding of emergency communications.
